We want to be upfront about how the Site is funded. This page sets out exactly how affiliate links work on https://www.vividrepairs.co.uk, which networks we participate in, and how we select the products we recommend.

1. The short version

Many product recommendations on this Site are affiliate links. If you click one and complete a qualifying purchase on the merchant's site, the merchant pays us a small commission. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid had you visited the merchant directly. Commission has no effect on what you pay.

We label this with a clear "As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases" notice on every product review page that contains Amazon links, in line with the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement. Other affiliate networks are disclosed at point of click.

2. Affiliate networks we participate in

• Amazon Associates UK — links to amazon.co.uk products. Our affiliate tracking ID is vivid05-21. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program / Amazon EU Associates Programme — affiliate advertising programmes designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties.
• Commission Junction (CJ) — for selected merchants where direct affiliate relationships are managed via the CJ network.
• Direct partner programmes — for VPN providers, privacy software, and selected hardware brands where we have a direct affiliate relationship rather than going through a network.

3. How we choose what to recommend

Editorial independence is core to the Site being useful. The following rules govern every recommendation we publish:

• We recommend products based on their merits — specifications, real-world performance, customer reviews, value, and stock availability — not on which merchant pays the highest commission.
• We do not accept payment for positive reviews or for editorial placement. Sponsored content, where it ever appears, will be clearly labelled "Sponsored" or "Paid promotion".
• Our editorial process is documented internally; the same selection criteria apply whether or not a product is available via an affiliate link.
• Out-of-stock products that have been our top pick are demoted automatically by our daily stock monitor, with a higher-rated in-stock alternative surfaced where one exists. We don't keep recommending dead listings just to earn a click.

4. Pricing and stock availability

Where you see a price on the Site (including in product cards, comparison tables, sidebars, and Q&A widgets) it is fetched from the merchant's data feed and updated multiple times per day. Prices and availability can change between fetches. The price displayed at the merchant's checkout is always the price you pay; the merchant's site is the authoritative source.

5. What we earn

Commission rates vary by merchant, category, and network. As a guide, Amazon UK commissions for the categories we cover typically range from 1% to 4% of the product price; software and VPN commissions can be higher. Our total affiliate revenue is a small fraction of the total retail spend our readers make through us, and we deliberately do not chase margin at the expense of recommending what's actually best.

6. Compliance with UK + international rules

Our disclosure practices are intended to comply with:

• The UK Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.
• Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) guidance on affiliate marketing — affiliate links are clearly identifiable and labelled.
• The Amazon Associates Operating Agreement, including the required attribution language quoted above.
• The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements, for the benefit of any US-based readers.

7. Reader complaints + corrections

If you believe a recommendation on the Site is misleading, out of date, or otherwise inaccurate, please email support@vividrepairs.co.uk and we will investigate. Where appropriate we will correct the article and add a brief note explaining the change.
