Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-30
This Cookie Policy explains how Vivid Intelligence Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), trading as Vivid Repairs, uses cookies and similar technologies on https://www.vividrepairs.co.uk (the "Site"). It supplements and forms part of our Privacy Policy.
Our use of cookies is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner. "Similar technologies" includes localStorage, sessionStorage, web beacons, and similar client-side storage we may use for the same purposes.
2. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These are required for the Site to function and cannot be switched off. They include the admin authentication cookie (used only for our internal editorial dashboard), session identifiers used by our hosting provider for security, and the consent record itself when you make a choice on a cookie banner.
Functional
Used to remember choices you make to provide a more personalised experience — for example, the dismissal state of the on-page Q&A widget (so it doesn't keep reopening), and non-tracking session preferences. These are session- or short-lifetime cookies.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of the Site. Vercel Analytics is privacy-preserving and does not use third-party cookies, does not track visitors across sites, and does not collect personal data linkable to an individual.
Where applicable we also rely on standard server-side request logging (IP, user-agent, referrer). For our 404 monitor we hash IP addresses so we can detect repeat broken-link traffic without storing identifiable IPs.
Marketing / advertising
We do not serve display advertising on the Site and do not use third-party advertising cookies. When you click an affiliate link, the destination merchant may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy — we do not control those cookies and they are governed by the merchant's site, not ours.
3. UTM parameters and affiliate tracking
Some links on the Site (including those we share via search engine listings, email, and social channels) include UTM parameters in the URL. These let us measure which content sources drive engagement. UTM parameters are not cookies; they are simply query-string markers and stop applying as soon as you navigate away from the link's destination.
Affiliate links contain merchant tracking codes (for Amazon, our tag is vivid05-21) so the merchant can attribute commission to us. The merchant's own cookies on their site govern that tracking — see the merchant's privacy notice for details.
4. Managing your cookie preferences
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, restrict third-party cookies, or alert you when a cookie is set. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will affect site functionality (for example, our admin pages will not be able to keep you signed in).
